The Department of Oral Pathology & Microbiology at Government Dental College & Hospital, Jalgaon is committed to excellence in undergraduate dental education, diagnostic services, research, and community service. The department forms the scientific foundation of clinical dentistry by enabling students to understand the etiology, pathogenesis, microscopic features, and diagnosis of diseases affecting the oral and maxillofacial region.
\nThe department specializes in the study of oral diseases through histopathology, oral microbiology, cytology, hematology, and advanced diagnostic techniques. It plays a vital role in the early diagnosis of oral potentially malignant disorders, oral cancer, developmental anomalies, infections, cysts, and tumors of the oral cavity.
\nStudents are trained through a competency-based undergraduate curriculum that integrates basic medical sciences with oral pathology and microbiology. Emphasis is placed on developing diagnostic skills, scientific reasoning, laboratory competence, ethical practice, and research aptitude.
