The Department of Oral Medicine & Radiology at Government Dental College & Hospital, Jalgaon is committed to excellence in undergraduate dental education, patient care, research, and community service. The department serves as the gateway to clinical dentistry by providing comprehensive diagnosis, treatment planning, and non-surgical management of diseases affecting the oral cavity and maxillofacial region.
\nThe department specializes in the diagnosis and medical management of oral mucosal diseases, salivary gland disorders, temporomandibular joint disorders, oral potentially malignant disorders, oral manifestations of systemic diseases, and orofacial pain. It also provides comprehensive radiographic services for diagnosis and treatment planning using conventional and digital imaging techniques.
\nStudents receive competency-based undergraduate education through integrated theoretical, preclinical, and clinical training. Emphasis is placed on developing sound diagnostic skills, interpretation of oral radiographs, evidence-based clinical decision-making, infection control, patient safety, ethical practice, and effective communication.
\nThe department plays a pivotal role in comprehensive patient evaluation and interdisciplinary treatment planning while promoting preventive oral healthcare and early detection of oral diseases, including oral cancer.
